Judy Jasper is no stranger to most at Inland Christian Home. Her time living at Inland has brought significant value to the community while also generating friends, memories and opportunities to learn and grow.
Judy is a third-generation Californian, and her mother was once a resident of Inland Christian Home. The care her mother received made Judy’s decision easy to move to Inland when she retired from owning a local small business ten years ago.
Since retiring, she embraced the opportunity to give her time to Inland Christian Home by assisting staff with administrative tasks, delivering flyers to residents and answering phones on occasion. She also drives her fellow residents and neighbors to doctor appointments, the grocery store and more.
When asked why she wanted to volunteer, she says, “Because I have the time! Now that I have retired and don’t have a business to run, let’s make my time count!”
Judy has also been a judge for the City of Ontario’s Fourth of July Parade and volunteered for many organizations including the Match- Two Mentoring Outreach Prison Ministry, the Ontario Police Department, the Ontario Downtown Association and nineteen years in local Kiwanis Clubs.
When she’s not volunteering around campus, she enjoys trivia games, watching her favorite TV shows, going to plays, taking her dog, Fred, on walks and going out to eat.
Judy describes living on campus and moving to Inland Christian Home as “the best move I ever made.” Her favorite part of living here is her neighbors and the connections made while volunteering with the small community.
