Fellowship has long been an important part of life at Inland Christian Home where we once offered live church services every weekend in the Friendship Center. When the pandemic hit in March 2020, the facility had to make the difficult decision to shutter these in-person services for residents’ safety. We pivoted, as we always do, and offered services via a live feed on the weekends. Although these live streams provided a sense of fellowship when most were unable to attend church in person, it wasn’t quite the same.

Recently, in partnership with CrossPoint Church in Chino, ICH has reintroduced live services for the community. Taking place in the Friendship Center on the Inland Christian Home campus, monthly services are led by a church elder, assisted by the support of ICH Chaplain Leon Drayer and the facility’s Executive Director, David Stienstra.

This schedule coincides with communion at CrossPoint Church. Services begin at 9:30 am on the first Sunday of each month with refreshments served after the service. Our goal is to bring this service to everyone who desires to attend, including those unable to join in person by continuing to offer live streaming.

The sense of community and togetherness that live church services provide is invaluable to the ICH community. The sessions that started earlier this year have been well attended with nearly two dozen residents of Assisted Living and Independent Living regularly joining, and as many as thirty-two worshippers attending at once. It is our hope that attendance will continue to grow as the community learns about this valuable service.
