Adult Day Care Services

Adult day care services provide a balance to the lives of families or caregivers so their loved ones can maintain the living situation that is most ideal for them.

If you are caring for an elder whose memory is slipping or who needs more assistance than in younger years, you may benefit from the temporary relief provided by Adult Day services.

The Adult Day Care Service is provided by the Inland Haven. This program assists families and caregivers in Ontario who are providing care to persons in their homes that suffer from dementia or memory issues related to Alzheimer’s Disease. This service allows families and caregivers to take a break from their obligations, allowing them to attend to their daily chores, work, or even get some much-needed rest.

The senior day care residents are integrated into and encouraged to participate in the daily life and activities provided by Inland Haven. Residents are provided with an area where they can rest privately, as well as with a separate daycare restroom. The adult daycare program helps participants stay engaged and forge meaningful personal connections or rest privately depending on personal needs. It also provides a balance to the lives of their families or caregivers so they can maintain the living situation that is most ideal for them. Many older adults who participate in day care services often transition to full-time memory care assistance for further support.

The Staff

The same specially trained staff that work at Inland Haven also tend to the daycare residents. All staff members receive special training in the care of residents with dementia and in the administration of medications. This training includes how to handle difficult behaviors such as wandering and frustration. A licensed vocational nurse (LVN) oversees all adult daycare operations.
